The Tallinn Street Food Festival, which ran for the third time on July 11-12 in Telliskivi Creative City, was awarded the international eco-certification WWF Gold Standard. This is the first award of its kind conferred on a public event held in Estonia.

The biggest street food festival of the Nordics and the Baltics doesn’t intend to just make for a good time while enjoying street cuisine, but also compensate the carbon footprint created in the process of the festival. Beginning this year, the Tallinn Street Food Festival, with about 60 food and drink venues and 18 000 visitors, is a „green“ event, where food and drinks will be primarily served along with primarily recyclable and biodegradable cutlery, the green nature of which is officially proven with an eco-certificate issued by an independent third party – Finnish environmental protection enterprise Nordic Offset Oy.
