On December 7, the Danish band Efterklang will perform at Paavli Kultuurivabrik in Tallinn. The special guest will be Funny Weather, the solo project of Fred Wallin, bassist and co-producer of the Swedish electropop band Little Dragon.
Wallin, who co-creates Little Dragon’s polished alternative pop sound, released the debut EP of his solo project Funny Weather, Banner of a Lost Belief, in 2022. A self-titled full-length debut album is set to be released in January next year, with the lead single expected to drop during his guest appearance on Efterklang’s tour in December. The album was mixed by renowned sound engineer Joe Harling (Robbie Williams, Tears for Fears, Lana Del Rey) and mastered by Heba Kadry (Björk, Bon Iver, Big Thief).
In his solo work, Wallin promises to bring together the skills and songwriting talent he developed over two decades with Little Dragon, blending elements of electronics, R&B, soul, and global folk influences. He will perform the album’s program at Paavli Kultuurivabrik with a four-piece band.
The evening’s headliner, the Danish band Efterklang, will present their seventh full-length album Things We Have In Common, released on September 27. In addition to their signature rich atmospheric soundscapes and electro-acoustic experiments, the new album gives more prominence to silence, resulting in music that doesn’t rush and beauty that resides in vulnerability and invisible threads.
Paavli Kultuurivabrik will open its doors for the concert on December 7 at 19:00, with Funny Weather taking the stage at 20:00, and Efterklang at 21:00.
Tickets for the concert are available on Piletilevi for €45.
