Shiftworks/TMW was a partner in Estonia’s programme at WOMEX, the world’s leading global music showcase festival, held in Tampere, responsible for communications and co-organising the “Meet Estonia” reception. Estonia was represented on the Northern Connections stage by trio Kass-Talsi-Minn and OOPUS, alongside a performance by pan-Baltic ensemble The Baltic Sisters. A joint Nordic-Baltic area was open at Tampere Hall.
Music Estonia and TMW, with support from the Estonian Embassy in Helsinki, hosted the “Meet Estonia” reception at culture hub Telakka, where Tapio Korjus, founder of Rockadillo Group and producer of WOMEX Tampere, was honoured for his long-standing contribution to Estonia-Finland cultural relations.
The programme was delivered under the leadership of Music Estonia, in partnership with the Estonian Traditional Music Center and TMW. It was supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the Estonian Embassy in Helsinki, Studio Sound, the Latvian Music Information Centre, the Lithuanian Music Information Centre, and the Nordic music export offices Music Finland, Export Music Sweden, Music Norway, TEMPI and Iceland Music.
