The Shiftworks team had the honour of helping the British Council organise the closing event of the ‘People to People’ programme, marking more than ten years of collaboration on community engagement and integration in Estonia.
The evening was opened by Shiftworks director Helen Sildna and Jevgeni Timoštšuk. Welcoming remarks were given by Ursula Roosmaa, Head of the British Council in Estonia. This was followed by an overview of the P2P programme’s impact assessment by Dmitri Teperik of the International Centre for Defence and Security.
In the second half of the reception, remarks were given by Eda Silberg, Deputy Secretary General for Cultural Diversity at the Ministry of Culture; Ify Agboola, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Estonia; Piia Tamm, Head of the Ida-Viru Creative Cluster and Viru Film Fund; and Johanna Rannula, Head of NART.
Panel discussions were held on art and culture as a means of community integration, education and media literacy, and civic and community engagement, followed by a light dinner.
The musical programme was provided by Anett & Fredi and DJ Erkin Antov.
